The Pabst Blue Ribbon Northeast Tourney proudly announces its support of the New England Lions Clubs’ Visually Impaired Fishing Tournaments. Annual proceeds from the PBR Northeast Tourney will further enhance the Lions Clubs’ efforts to improve the lives of the visually impaired public and veterans throughout the region.

With 2014 comes event growth across the region for the Lions Clubs. Rhode Island will be hosting its seventh annual tournament, which projects to be the largest to date. The Connecticut tournament will see major expansion and Massachusetts is set to host its inaugural tournament. The increased popularity ensures that the Northeast will be well represented at the annual National Visually Impaired Tournament held on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. A New England Championship is also on the horizon for 2015.

Week 6 News Update

Categories: Uncategorized

Juniors & Fluke Headlined the Week

Week 6 in the Pabst Blue Ribbon Northeast Tournament featured 3 fluke weigh-ins, a new 2nd place Bass by Boat, a new 3rd place Bluefish, a new Junior Bass By Boat and a new Junior bluefish leader.

Just as we were going to press we received a weigh-in from Kevin McDaniel, who’s 13lb 4oz bluefish put him in 3rd place AND we received a weigh-in from Paul Santa Barbara, he knocked himself off the leaderboard with his 51lb 9oz stripper in the boat division. The only other bass weighed-in this week came from Junior Angler Francine Mastrangelo. Francine caught a 41 lb 2 oz bass putting her on top of the Junior Bass by Boat leaderboard.

In this edition of the newsletter, Tournament Partner Fishidy has tournament specific fishing maps for you to check out, plus you can take a look at pictures of the week’s top catches, the updated leaderboard, and the Week 5 provisional winners. You will also find a list of PBR events taking place this weekend and a special offer from Tournament Partner, Old Harbor Outfitters!

IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT RULES REMINDERS:

  • Please note that for both the bass by boat and bass by shore categories a penalty will be assessed to any participant presenting a bass that weighs more than 8 pounds LESS than the third-place bass at the time of official weigh-in. Keep up to date with the leaderboard here: http://pbrfishing.com/leaderboard
  • Fish must be weighed in within 15 hours of the time of catch.

For more information see the official rules.

TOURNAMENT NOTES:

  • The price to enter the fishing tournament goes up on Tuesday, July 15th to $40 for adults. If you still aren’t signed up, don’t delay!
  • The Junior Bluefish Leaderboard is not displaying correctly on the PBR Fishing website. We are working on this and hope to have it resolved by early next week.
  • Good news! We’ve shipped tournament kits yesterday and today. We will send another batch on Monday so we anticipate everyone having their kits by early next week. Again, we apologize for the delay!

The Leaderboard Battle Begins!

Categories: Uncategorized

The leaderboard battle has begun! This week the bass by boat division has new 1st place, 2nd place, AND 3rd place fish and the fluke division has new 1st place and 3rd place fish. See photos below.

Didn’t catch a leaderboard fish? Don’t forget about our weekly leader prizes from Dexter, Swivits, Ecotop and Flippin’ Out Charters that give you a new chance to win each week! You can find an updated leaderboard and our week 2 provisional weekly winners below.

The PBR Tournament is a proud supporter of the New England Lions Club. This weekend the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Lions Clubs will host their Visually Impaired Persons Fishing Tournaments. You can read more about both tournaments below.

Important Notes:

  • After you weigh in your fish make sure the weigh station sends in your weigh-in form right away so we can record your catch.
  • If you do not receive your kit this week please be patient, as soon as a new shipment arrives we will get that out to you. Don’t let this stop you from fishing though, as long as you’re registered you don’t need anything to head out on the water. If you weigh-in a fish make a note on your weigh-in form that you have not yet received your pin.
  • Please note bluefish on the website leaderboard are not updating correctly. We are working to fix this as soon as possible. You can find the current leaderboard including bluefish below.
